Human Resources Manager (Wood Division)

Bassett Furniture is looking for a Human Resources Manager for our Wood Division, including the Martinsville Table (Martinsville, VA) and BenchMade (Bassett, VA) manufacturing facilities. This position is responsible for administering all human resources related functions for approximately 200 manufacturing associates, including associate relations, benefits, payroll, recruiting and hiring/orientation.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Fostering and maintaining a work environment that encourages respect and equal opportunity, and is free from discriminatory or harassing behavior;

  • Administering Company policies and programs consistently and appropriately;

  • Communicating and administering benefit plans, including open enrollment;

  • Overseeing weekly payroll processing for hourly pay;

  • Recruiting and screening job applicants;

  • Welcoming and orienting newly hired associates;

  • Investigating and resolving workplace issues in accordance with Company policy and consistent with applicable employment law;

  • Coordinating special events, including associate recognition, meetings, etc.;

    Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience in human resources management, preferably in a manufacturing environment;

  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects;

  • Ability to listen with an empathetic ear and communicate effectively with associates throughout the organization, including management;
