Job DescriptionJob Title: Executive Director/Vice President, Human Resources (leveling determined based on experience). Location: Salt Lake City, UT. Job Type: Permanent, Full-time. Reports To: CEO. For over three decades, JBR Clinical Research has partnered with clinical trial sponsors and CROs for accurate, results-driven clinical research studies for a variety of therapeutic indications across Phases I IV.. Position Overview:. The Executive Director/Vice President of Human Resources will be responsible for directing all of the people functions of the corporation in accordance with the policies and practices of JBR Clinical Research, the ethical and social consciences of business and society and the laws, regulations and the administrative rulings of governmental organizations and other regulatory and advisory authorities and organizations. This role will report directly to the CEO and have a high level of accountability. This position will also be responsible for aligning strategic human resource planning with the company mission and strategy in order to provide the JBR with the best people talent available by being aware of policies, practices and trends within the industry. Qualified candidates will have demonstrated that they are leaders, strategic thinkers, problem-solvers, and effective people managers. The objective of this position is to promote the role of strategic human resources and ensure the long-term success of the organization as a whole by developing, maintaining and enhancing the organization's human resources function through evaluating, planning, and implementing employee engagement, human resources policies, programs, and practices.. Key Responsibilities:. * Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's human resource function and performance (i.e. recruitment, training, market compensation ranges, job descriptions, on boarding, employee evaluations, etc.).. * Collaborate with the management team to translate the strategic and tactical business vision and mission into HR strategic and operational plans.. * Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning of new programs/strategies and regulatory action as those items impact the attraction, motivation, development and retention of the people resources of the corporation.. * Develop staffing strategies and implementation plans and programs to identify talent within and outside the corporation for positions of responsibility. Identify appropriate and effective external sources for candidates for all levels within the company.. * Develop progressive and proactive compensation and benefits programs to provide motivation, incentives and rewards for effective performance and to provide programs that utilize an employee and company partnership for the short and long-range health and welfare protection of the employees.. * Develop programs to allow the corporation to embrace applicants and employees of all backgrounds and to permit equal opportunity and full development and performance of all employees. * Develop human resource planning models to identify competency, knowledge and talent gaps and develop specific programs for the filling of the gaps.. * Place and maintain employment ads, conduct initial interviews, and work with management to draft job offers and payment plans for new staff. * Continually assess the competitiveness of all programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries and markets. * Develop appropriate policies and programs for effective management of the people resources of the corporation. Included in this area but not limited only to the following would be programs for employee relations, affirmative action, sexual harassment, employee complaints, external education and career development. * Serve as a Human Resources advisor for employee actions (i.e. performance improvement, terminations, etc.) and advises management on best HR practices, FMLA and Workers Compensation administration. * Ensure employee files, evaluations, and handbooks are efficiently created and maintained. * Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce human resources policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation. Ensure all policies and procedures comply with legal regulations and best practices.. * Manage other areas such as relocation, employee communication, employee safety and health and community relations.. * Prepare reports for the CEO using business metrics and KPIs. * Interacts with supervisors and employees to evaluate and maintain positive company morale.. * Work with the training department to keep the company compliant with OSHA requirements. * Manage the budget and other financial measures of the Human Resources Department. * Continue improving the programs, policies, practices and processes associated with meeting the strategic and operational people issues of the organization. Qualifications:. * Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Human Resources. * 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with a minimum of 5 years of experience at the Director level or higher with exposure to the health care services industry. * PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred. * A proven track record in designing/developing/directing innovative program development within a complex and rapidly changing environment. * Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws. * Exceptional interpersonal skills. * Strong organization and leadership skills. * Demonstrated ability to create innovative approaches to solving challenging problems within the competitive healthcare industry. * Must reflect the professional image of the company, upholding the company vision in actions, demeanor and appearance..
