Key Responsibilities: Provide direction and input regarding overall Human Resource strategies that support the culture, company direction, and the growth needs of the business and employees. Lead and/or support organization assessments, including survey design and results analysis. Partner with line management to develop/implement/update optimal organizational designs, structure, pay, succession planning and talent development. Recommend areas of improvement Develop relationships with employees at all levels of the organization. Oversee employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, onboarding and exit interviewing. Mediate simple to somewhat difficult interactions and escalate issues as appropriate. Identify and inform senior management and HR leadership about noteworthy trending topics within the organization. Maintain current and complete understanding of Federal and State laws including applicable case law and regulations such as Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, NLRA, etc. Generate and maintain documentation for immigration services for company employees. Engage with managers as necessary and train managers in methods for effective employee onboarding and separations. Provide direction and problem-solving support to managers to ensure consistent responses to employee relations issues. Make recommendations and identify solutions regarding human resources policies and practices Provide expert HR advice, coaching, and counsel to management and employees on company programs, policies and procedures, employment/labor laws, conflict resolution, change management, diversity and organizational development and design. Ensure compliance with all applicable employment / labor laws through programs, practices, policies, handbooks, investigations, training, and actions. Respond to concerns about performance management and performance improvement, including harassment, discrimination, misconduct, employee safety, teamwork, etc. Coach managers about how best to execute and document performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions. Investigate reported incidents, make recommendations for timely resolution. Recommend approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the HR department. Oversee communication regarding benefits, compensation, employee referral program, EAP programs, etc. Lead talent acquisition including recruiting talent, preparing job descriptions and recruitment advertising, as needed. Collaborate to assess specific hiring criteria and define candidate profiles to ensure the right talent is selected to meet business requirements. Create systems to recognize and develop talent. Support the delivery of effective and efficient HR processes through a deep understanding of HR fundamentals. Maintain cost effective relationship with associated labor law attorneys
Required Skills: Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Business Management, Human Resources Management or related discipline. 7 years of HR Generalist experience 3 years of experience in HR leadership in a manufacturing and/or industrial environment preferred. Experienced providing HR services for large headcount operations Professional in Human Resources certification (PHR, SPHR) strongly preferred. Possess demonstrated experience in organizational design, change management, recruitment, employee relations and employee communications. Must know California state and federal compliance issues and requirements of key labor and employment laws Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and experienced with computerized HRIS systems. Must possess demonstrated strong and effective communication skills Ability to interface effectively with all levels of company personnel. Ability to adapt and respond to changing situations. Ability to successfully mediate and resolve conflict. Ability to handle very sensitive information in a discreet, confidential manner. Familiarity with immigration documentation is a plus. Advanced education is a plus Professional HR certifications / trainings are a plus.
