This position supports the environmental program by performing administrative. Duties of this position are: Provide assistance to customers at Environmental Health front counter which includes answering phones, collection of payment for services, writing receipts, issuing vital records, pulling files, processing paperwork for courier, logging in applications, making copies of documents for customers. Facilitates the processing of permits, applications, referrals, and well & septic evaluations. Opens and distributes incoming mail. May be required to perform other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated skill in the use of Microsoft Office to include Word and Excel to accomplish office support requirements. Recent experience using office equipment (i.e. computers, printers, copier and fax machine). Working knowledge of file management. Good communication skills and ability to interact with others.Preferred Qualifications
Proficient in Spanish and English language, both verbally and in writing and good customer service skills preferred.Special Requirements
Employment is contingent upon satisfactory results of a state and federal criminal history background check and the Department of Social Services Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry check, U.S. HHS IG Exclusion List check, employment reference check, and E-Verify. The selected candidate must complete a Statement of Personal Economic Interests as a condition of employment, if applicable (Va. Code 2.2-3114).
